Our approach

Portula advises and guides you throughout the project, from finding a plot and choosing the design of your bungalow to the transfer of ownership and potentially letting it. But how exactly does it all work?

Personal wishes, sampling the atmosphere & ‘trial stay’

Everything begins with your personal preferences. This means that we identify your wishes and sample the atmosphere of the various locations, for as long as it takes to find a plot that is ideal for you. Portula’s personnel visit Norway and regularly, so they can show you a variety of plots. We will be pleased to help you plan your journey and organise your ‘trial stay’ accommodation for a modest price in a new wooden bungalow.

You can do this ‘trial stay’ over a weekend. In that case you would, for example, fly to Norway on a Friday evening and set off with one of Portula’s personnel on the Saturday to view a variety of types of plots and houses. Each house has something about it that makes it special, such as a nice outdoor or indoor fireplace, a bay window, grass roof or sauna. By seeing a variety of possibilities you will get a good picture of what suits your personal wishes. On the Sunday evening you will be back home with a head full of ideas – but of course you can stay on a trial basis for longer, to really experience what it will be like to have your own holiday bungalow in Norway.

Quotation and finance

Once we have clearly identified your choice, we will draw up a quotation for it. This includes a clear description of all your wishes: the size and layout of the holiday home, the design and all your specific preferences. We make this clear and understandable, so that nothing is left to doubt and you won’t be confronted by any surprises later.

Once we are in agreement on all aspects of the quotation, we sign it. Then Portula gets to work on your behalf. From the start of construction to delivery and handing over the keys, we are your personal contact point.

For the finance for your holiday home in Norway or Sweden we can introduce you to reliable financial partners, who are willing to finance up to 60% of the cost of the house in many cases. We will also help you with the various formalities in Norway, such as applying for a personal number and opening a bank account.

From construction plan to your own house

When everything is in place, your holiday home can be built. In order to ensure that each of our holiday homes is delivered in perfect condition, we work with carefully selected suppliers from Norway and other countries.
